V O L U N T E E R
Volunteers at Platte Valley Medical Center share in the mission of Platte Valley to “FOSTER OPTIMAL HEALTH FOR ALL.” By sharing your time and talents you will make a difference in the lives of our patients and families. You will work alongside our staff to provide compassionate care to all who come through our doors. Your willingness to become a part of the volunteer team will make a huge difference in the patient experience.
There are opportunities to volunteer in many areas of the hospital as well as the Medical office buildings. We offer a variety of tasks and services, and will do our best to align with your particular gifts and desires. Volunteering can be a great way to help determine a career choice. Many of our volunteers have made great friends while here and they all agree that it feels good to do something for someone else.
TO THINK ABOUT
Due to the nature of work in the hospital, our training process, and costs involved, we ask for a commitment of six months. We encourage our volunteers to commit to a consistent schedule working a 4-hour shift once a week. We ask that our Junior Volunteers be at least 15 years of age.
Adult volunteers are required to undergo a background check and both adult and junior volunteers must provide medical immunization records for approval by our employee health nurse.
BENEFITS OF VOLUNTEERING
In addition to the reward of helping other people, making new friends, and learning new skills, we also offer a uniform and a free meal in our bistro on the days that you volunteer.
