Water Sprinkler Break Briefly Interrupts Hospital Operations

Date: 02/02/11

Due to frigid temperatures, we experienced a water sprinkler break in the halllway between hospital and medical office building around 5:15 p.m. As a result, there was a rotten smell in the water line and there was an initiation of the fire alarms.

The Greater Brighton Fire Department has isolated and shut down water to the affected area. At 6:00 p.m., we were cleared to resume normal operations and the Brighton Police Department will continue to monitor the hospital’s perimeter for the evening.

Restoration and cleanup is currently underway and will continue throughout the evening. The Medical Office Building will be open and patient operations will resume as normal tomorrow.
