There’s still time to get your flu shot this year. Platte Valley Medical Center has a limited supply available and will provide them by appointment only. Scheudle your appointment today by calling 303-498-3590.
Seasonal Flu Vaccines are $15 (flu shot is only vaccine available), High Dose Vaccines (for seniors over age 65) are $30, and Pneumonia Vaccines are $35. If you have Medicare (Part B), Evercare or Rocky Mountain Health Plan insurance you will not have a co-pay for the flu vaccine. To be eligible for this, you must bring your insurance card for proof of coverage.
If you have ever had the flu, you know how miserable it is to be down for a week or more. Avoid the common complications of the flu this year and follow the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) recommendations, which strongly encourage a flu vaccine for everyone six months and older. In preparation for this flu season, the 2010-2011 flu vaccine will protect against three different flu viruses: an H3N2 virus, an influenza B virus, and the H1N1 virus that caused so much illness last season.
