Speech Language Pathology evaluates and treats delays and/or disorders in receptive and/or expressive language, auditory processing, articulation, voice, fluency, oral motor functioning, feeding and swallowing. These can be medically or non-medically based.

Our team works closely with parents, medical and educational professionals to provide coordinated services.

Free Pediatric Community Screens are 30-minute sessions and occur on the first Friday of each month. Appointments are available by calling the Physical Medicine Department at 303-498-1840. Upon completion of the screening, recommendations are provided to the parent and child's physician.

EVALUATIONS

Single Discipline Evaluation

A single discipline evaluation can refer to other disciplines as warranted and is referred by a physician order for a specific concern.

Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy services are provided by Platte Valley Medical Center and Speech-Language Therapy services are provided by the office of Carol I. Chadwick & Associates

Team Evaluation

A team evaluation is a joint evaluation to address multiple concerns. A physician's prescription is required to determine the inclusion of the best combination of the three disciplines, depending on the child's needs. This evaluation may incorporate play-based activities or more formal testing to determine the child's functioning level. Recommendations and a plan of treatment with parent involvement are developed after the initial evaluation. An evaluation report will be given to the parent and sent to the referring physician.

Treatment

Treatment models include individual and co-treatments between disciplines. An ongoing collaborative approach between disciplines benefit the whole child.
